A Day on Board a Turkish Gulet
"Experience what a typical day on a Turkish gulet really feels like. From your first morning coffee on deck to the last dinner under the stars, every moment brings comfort, beauty, and connection with the sea."
☕ Waking Up to the Sound of Waves
Imagine waking up to the gentle sound of waves and the smell of freshly brewed coffee drifting across the deck. The morning sun warms the teak wood as the crew quietly prepares breakfast — a colorful spread of fruit, eggs, cheese, and warm bread.
Guests usually wake up around 8:00–9:00 a.m., take a swim before breakfast, or simply enjoy the peaceful view while the boat slowly moves to the next bay.
🍽️ Lunch and Lazy Hours in Turquoise Bays
After breakfast, the gulet begins her daily cruise. The captain heads towards a new cove, often no more than an hour or two away. During the short cruise, guests can relax on the sun deck, read a book, or just watch the coastline slide by.
It’s calm, quiet, and deeply relaxing. Seas are generally smooth along the Turkish coast, so even those worried about motion sickness feel comfortable most of the time.
Around midday, the gulet anchors in a turquoise bay for lunch and swimming. The chef serves fresh seafood, grilled meats, or light Mediterranean dishes — all prepared onboard. Guests often swim, snorkel, or try paddle boarding while the crew sets the table. Lunches are long, unhurried, and often followed by a nap in the shade.
🏝️ Visiting Coastal Villages or Simply Relaxing Onboard
Afternoons are for exploration or rest. Some guests take the tender ashore to visit a small village or ancient site, while others prefer to stay onboard with a drink and music. Every few hours, the gulet moves to a new stop — perhaps a quiet inlet surrounded by pine trees or a lively harbor where locals gather for dinner.
As the sun sets, the atmosphere changes. The crew sets the dinner table on the aft deck, candles flicker, and the water turns deep blue. Meals are served under the stars — a highlight of every gulet holiday.
After dinner, guests chat, play cards, or simply enjoy the night breeze until the lights of the coastline fade into darkness. By midnight, the sea is still, the sky full of stars, and everyone drifts to sleep to the sound of the gentle sea.
